has recently been added to Game Connector.
It requires that you already own Doom2, exe and iwad. If you own the game then you can play DOOM2 IPX!
So what is this DOOM2 IPX thing anyway? DOOM2 IPX is basically DosBox and an updated ipxsetup.exe that allows you to play the original DooM2 over the net. But in this case, the client and server don't have to worry about matching up their commands to have a reliable net game. Which is where Game Connector comes in!
Yes, you heard me right! The easiest way to play the original Doom2 over the net!
To play, it requires that you download Doom2 IPX of course. During install/extraction it will ask if you want to over write your IPXSETUP, click yes as this IPXSETUP is much newer and more reliable than your old one. Now, I know what you're thinking..sure you could use your old ipxsetup, but to play over the net in a reasonable way, it is encouraged that you use the new one.
So what are you waiting for? Get DOOM2 IPX and play the original DooM2, online.
And above all, have fun!
The new ipxsetup is created by xttl. Source included! Read the DOOM2 IPX readme txt more info. I will create a step by step guide later.
